John "Jay" Norman Jr

John Jay Norman Jr., 49, of Port Huron, died unexpectedly on Friday, November 29, 2024 after a short battle with cancer.

He was born June 12, 1975 in Port Huron.

John attended Port Huron Area Schools and was a member of St. Paul A.M.E. Church in Port Huron. He was employed at Chassix Manufacturing for several years and was working towards becoming a website designer. He loved his fur babies, whom he called “his boys,” Bentley and Bruno. He enjoyed taking care of his yard and listening to music.

He leaves to cherish his memories his parents, Gail and John Norman Sr.; loving companion, Melissa Latoszkiewicz; daughter, Destiny (Seth) Adams; three grandchildren, Lyric, Quincy and Seth Adams; sister Joylynn Norman; bonus granddaughter, Raven Smallstig; grandma, Geraldine Buckles; two nieces, Candice Porrett and Shiann Talbert; and a host of loving aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, John and Mattie Norman and Emmett and Sylvia Buckles; special uncles, K.C. Norman and James Norman Sr.; and two special cousins, Amir Taylor and Henry Witherspoon Jr.

Funeral services will be held at 12 noon on Friday, December 6, 2024 in Restoration Christian Community Church, 3201 Gratiot Ave., Port Huron with visitation beginning at 11:00 a.m. Pastor Byron Hazely and Pastor Loretta Hazely will officiate.

Burial will be in Lakeside Cemetery, Port Huron.
