Neil M McConnell
Neil Morgan McConnell, 81, of Fort Gratiot, went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, December 1, 2024.
He was born October 29, 1943 in Port Huron to the late Merton L. and Reta A. McConnell and married Karen Ramsey on August 8, 1964 in Harbor Beach.
Neil worked as a clerk for the U.S. Postal Service for 35 years until his retirement in 1999. Following retirement, he served as bookkeeper for Ross Bible Preschool and was affectionately known as “Mr. Karen”. Neil was an active member of Ross Bible Church for 55 years where he participated in the music ministry, sang in the choir and played on the church ball team. Alongside his faith, his family was his greatest joy.
He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Karen; children, Mark McConnell, Cheryl (Greg) Johnson and Dawn McConnell; daughter-in-law, Kimberly McConnell; grandchildren, Jonathan, Luke (Shayla), Evan and Sarah McConnell, Erin (Alex) Creighton, and Holly and Seth Johnson; a great grandson, Theo McConnell; brother-in-law, Warren (Arlene) Ramsey; and several nephews and nieces. He was preceded in death by his siblings, Elwyn and Elaine McConnell.
Visitation will be held from 1-4 and 5-8 p.m. on Wednesday, December 4, 2024 in Pollock-Randall Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, December 5, 2024 in Ross Bible Church with visitation beginning at 10:00 a.m. Pastor Steve Scott and Pastor Tim Clark will officiate. A livestream of the service will be available on Neil's obituary page of the funeral home website.
Burial will be in Rock Falls Cemetery, Harbor Beach. Pallbearers will be Neil's grandchildren.
Memorial contributions may be made to Ross Bible Church or Hope FM.
