Vickie L Albert

Vickie Lynn Albert, 72, of Fort Gratiot, died Wednesday, December 18, 2024 at Henry Ford Hospital Detroit, surrounded by loved ones after a brief illness.

She was born July 15, 1952 in Port Huron to Victor “Vic” and the late Dorothy “Dottie” Albert. She married Michael “Mick” Horan on October 4, 2003 in Frankenmuth.

Vickie was employed in human resources for St. Clair County for many years before her retirement. She enjoyed crocheting, cooking, and canning. She had a passion for helping others and making meals for those in need. She and her husband were involved in Relay for Life for 15 years.

She is survived by her husband of 21 years, Michael “Mick”; five daughters, Courtney Carmichael (Sam Schumacher), April (Albert) Dustan, Autumn (Brian) Boswell, Ashley (Jaron) Zuege and Abigail (Chris) Southerland; father, Vic (Pat) Albert; brother, Ernest Albert (Michelle Wendling); sister, Karla (Scott) Beedon; 11 grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. She was preceded in death by her former husband, Robert Carmichael; and her mother, Dottie Albert.

A graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, May 24, 2025 in Lakeside Cemetery, Port Huron followed by a memorial event.

Memorial contributions may be made to Blue Water Hospice, which was near and dear to her heart.
