Eugene A Beeler

June 15th, 1929 to December 19th, 2024

Eugene Anthony Beeler, 95, formerly of Kimball Township, passed away Thursday, December 19, 2024.

He was born June 15, 1929 in Port Huron Township to the late John and Pearl Beeler. He married Betty Mae Jackson on September 16, 1950 in Marysville.

Eugene graduated from St. Stephen High School and then served honorably in the U.S. Army as part of the 351st Regimental Combat Team, 2nd Battalion, F Company, from 1952 to 1954. After his service, Eugene worked for over 35 years at Mueller Brass, retiring in 1990.

Eugene was an avid amateur radio operator with the call sign W8WMN, a hobby that brought him joy and connection with others. He was also a member of St. Stephen Catholic Church and the American Legion Smiths Creek Post #525.

He is survived by his wife of 74 years, Betty; two daughters, LuAnn Relken and Betty (James) Ward; four grandchildren, Aimee (Ed) Brierly, Jessi Relken, Andrew Ward, and Erin (Mike) Kruszewski; six great-grandsons, Bryce, Wade, Ike and Colt Brierly and Beckett and Asher Kruszewski; and two brothers, Clarence and Frank Beeler. He was preceded in death by a son-in-law, John Relken; seven siblings, John (Marie) Beeler, Orville (Francis) Beeler, Veronica (Max) Hoffman, Bernice (Dewey) Philips, Helen (Frank) Rodegeb, Albert (Lillian) Beeler and infant Erma Beeler; and two sisters-in-law, Mary Beeler and Doris Beeler.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, December 22, 2024 in the Marysville Funeral Home with visitation beginning at 12 noon. Shaun Laurain will officiate. Military honors will be conducted under the auspices of the U.S. Army and the St. Clair County Allied Veterans Honor Guard. Honorary pallbearers will be Eugene’s great-grandsons.

Burial will be in Mt. Hope Cemetery at a later date.

Memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital or Disabled American Veterans Chapter #12.
