Janice M Thelmas

Janice Marie Thelmas, 74, of Port Huron, went home to be with the Lord on Monday, December 30, 2024.

She was born January 11, 1950 in Port Huron to the late Manderville and Pauline Thelmas.

Janice graduated from Port Huron High School and received her associate’s degree from Baker College. Over the years she worked in housekeeping at the Renaissance Center and was a nurses aide serving multiple nursing homes. Her final career took her to south-end Kroger where she was a favorite cashier until her retirement. Janice helped many children as a foster care mother and loved playing Bingo in her spare time. She was a former member of Bethlehem Temple and Restoration Christian Community Church, and a current devoted member of Zion Cathedral of Praise Church.

She leaves to mourn her passing her children, Dion (Ra-Shida) Thelmas, Monica Thelmas, Donald (Emily) Thelmas, Michael (Jessica) Thelmas and bonus daughter, Colleen Phillips; grandchildren, Ma’Sharri, Mickhayla and Kennette Thelmas; great grandchildren, Gabriella and Gi’onni; sister, Sarolyn Thelmas; brother, Paul “Larry” (Margaret) Thelmas; and a host of nieces, nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by her sisters, Sally, Diane and Carolyn.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, January 11, 2025, which would have been Janice’s 75 birthday, in Restoration Christian Community Church with visitation beginning at 10:00 a.m. Bishop Kimberly Brown will officiate and Pastor Carl Miller will eulogize. Pallbearers will be her sons, Dion, Donald and Michael; grandson, Kennette; Corey Banks and Ryan Brown.
