Susan Marie Wallace
Susan Marie Wallace went home to be with her Lord on Sunday, January 5, 2025. She passed peacefully in her Port Huron home with the love of her life by her side.
Mrs. Wallace was born January 26, 1961 in Port Huron to David and Della Fiedler and was a lifelong resident of the Port Huron area. She married Dan E Wallace on September 28, 1979 in Port Huron.
Sustained all her life by a deep faith in God, Susan was active at St. Paul Lutheran Church where she taught Sunday School for many years and helped produce the annual Christmas program. She was also involved in the community through Habitat for Humanity, the Nutcracker Ballet, Leader Dogs for the Blind, Girl Scouts, Port Huron Museums, and 4-H.
Susan was employed for many years in Port Huron area schools, including Michigamme Elementary and St. Clair County Community College. She retired from the college in December 2022.
She had a keen sense of humor and an avid interest in sewing, reading, genealogy, and camping with her family. After many years of hard work, she was very proud of completing her Associates Degree at St. Clair County Community College. She often said, “Not a day should go by that you don’t learn something new.”
Susan’s greatest joys in life came from her church, her family, and her two cats. Her grandchildren were treasured beyond measure and she often said that she retired to “be a professional Grammy.”
Susan is survived by her husband of 45 years, Dan; their three children, Adam (Tara) Wallace, Amy Lutz, and Caitlyn (Shawn) Rodegeb; and six grandchildren, Tyler Lutz, Maggie, Sophia, Gemma, and Gretchen Wallace, and Charlie Rodegeb. Susan is also survived by her father, David Fiedler; brothers, Jeff (Sherri) Fiedler and Roger (Cindy) Fiedler; sister, Jeannette (Keith) Wheatley; many nieces and nephews; and her dear lifelong best friend, Gail MacGregor. She was preceded in death by her mother, Della Fiedler.
Visitation will be held from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Friday, January 10, 2025 in Pollock-Randall Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be held at 12 noon on Saturday, January 11, 2025 with visitation beginning at 11:00 a.m. in St. Paul Lutheran Church. The Reverend Branden Hunt will officiate.
Cremation will follow and a private burial service will be held in Port Huron Township’s Woodland Cemetery.
Memorials can be made to her grandchildren’s college education fund payable to Dan Wallace. To send condolences, visit pollockrandall.com
