Virginia A Swoffer

August 15th, 1935 to January 18th, 2025

Virigina A. Swoffer, 89, of Marysville, died Saturday, January 18, 2025.

Virginia was born on August 15, 1935, in Cheboygan to the late Jack and Lucille Roberts. She married Ernest Swoffer on June 20, 1953 in Port Huron. After 50 years of marriage, he preceded her in death on February 6, 2004.

Virginia was a graduate of Marysville High School, Class of 1953. She owned and operated the Donut Shack in Port Huron, the Sugar Shack in St. Clair and was employed with Spring Grove Variety Store in Marysville for several years. She was a member of Marysville United Methodist Church. Her greatest love was her family, and she filled her days with raising her children, and grandchildren. She will be remembered for her clean house and love of her iron.

She is survived by her children, Robert (Keri) Swoffer, Chris Swoffer, Roy (Joddy) Swoffer, Chrystal (Bill) Bartlett and Debbie Plath. 13 grandchildren; 23 great grandchildren; two great great grandchildren; brother, Gary (Jane) Roberts; many nieces and nephews; her special friend, Carol Badley and all the Salt Block Girls.

She was preceded in death by her sons Ernest Swoffer Jr. and Roger Swoffer; brothers, Jack (Jenny) Roberts, and Bill Roberts.

The family plans to hold a memorial event next summer in August.

Inurnment will be in the Allied Veterans Cemetery Columbarium in Port Huron.
