Deborah L Smith

Deborah Lynn “Debbie” Smith, 59, of St. Johns, formerly of Port Huron, died Friday, January 17, 2025 after a short illness.

She was born July 21, 1965 in Port Huron to the late William A. and Doris A. Stein. Debbie met Stephen B. “Butch” Smith the year of 1983 and they were married March 26, 2004.

Debbie was a dedicated caregiver, both in the facilities she worked at and with many of the family members she took care of. She was also a lifetime lover of cats. A motorcycle enthusiast who enjoyed the thrill of the open road, she cherished the warmth and beauty of sunny beaches.

She is survived by her dear friend who was there with her until the end, Joe Johnston; step-children, Todd (Sandy) Smith and Theresa (Brett) Legler; grandchildren, Kelsie (Reed) Balli, T.J., Konner, Nick, Sarah and Ryan Smith, and Madison Legler; a great grandchild, Thea Balli; her sister, Lorraine Stein; niece, Ashley Stein; and great niece and nephew, Zaylee and Zander. In addition to her parents and Butch, she was preceded in death by her step-son, Troy Smith.

Visitation will be from 1-4pm on Friday, February 7, 2025 in Pollock-Randall Funeral Home. Funeral services will follow at 4:00 p.m. Shaun Laurain will officiate. Burial will be at Mt. Rest Cemetery, St. Johns.
