Ted S Pavlik

Ted Sam Pavlik, 96, of Marysville, died Saturday, February 1, 2025.

He was born February 12, 1928 in Macomb to the late Caroline and John Pavlik Sr. and was raised in Armada. He married Gladys M. Wisswell on September 19, 1953 in St. Mary Catholic Church in St. Clair.

Mr. Pavlik owned and operated Ted’s Auto Sales. An accordion player for over 80 years, Ted was the leader of “Ted Pavlik and the Melody Makers”. If you added all his playing hours through the years, it would equal at least 3.5 years solid of playing accordion. He was a member of the Blue Water Polka Boosters and was inducted into the Michigan Polka Hall of Fame. Ted enjoyed trying his luck at local casinos, traveling to Vegas, and scratching lottery tickets. He also loved a good cigar with friends, and enjoyed time up north deer hunting and playing poker, although he usually ended up at the local watering hole playing his accordion instead of in the woods. Ted was a longtime member of St. Christopher Catholic Church and the Marysville Knights of Columbus Council #9526.

He is survived by his wife of 71 years, Gladys; many nieces and nephews, including a special nephew and Ted’s drummer, John W. (Gayle) Pavlik. He was preceded in death by four brothers, Steve, John, Harry, and Frank; and a sister, Adeline.

Visitation will be 2-4 & 5-8 p.m. Monday in the Marysville Funeral Home. The Knights of Columbus will say the Rosary and present a plaque at 7:30 p.m. followed by a time of sharing.

The Funeral Mass will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, February 4, 2025 in St. Christopher Catholic Church with visitation beginning at 10:30 a.m. The Reverend James Arwady will officiate.

Burial will be in Riverlawn Cemetery, Marysville.
