Mary K Stager

Mary Kaye “Boots” Stager, 86, of Port Huron Township, went to be with her Heavenly Father on Sunday, February 9, 2025.

She was born May 25, 1938 in Port Huron to the late Percy and Violet Phillips. She married Leroy Stager on February 23, 1957 in Port Huron, and they shared 68 wonderful years together.

Mary Kaye worked as a secretary and bookkeeper for many years before serving as a food service employee for Port Huron Area Schools. After retiring, she devoted her time to volunteering at Mercy Hospital.

While she loved the comfort of her home, Mary Kaye also enjoyed vacations in Texas. She liked to cook and bake, always creating delicious meals for her family. She also had a special love for dogs. Mary Kaye was an avid sports fan, enjoyed reading novels, working on crossword puzzles, crocheting and spending time on the computer.

With a good sense of humor and a heart filled with kindness and deep faith, Mary Kaye touched the lives of all who knew her.

She is survived by her husband, Leroy; her daughter, Kristy Stager; and many nieces, nephews and close friends. She was preceded in death by her siblings.

A private family committal service will take place at Woodland Cemetery, Port Huron Township.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Blue Water Area Humane Society.
