Myron Cody “Mike” Lewis, 69, of Marysville, died Wednesday, April 18, 2012.
He was born September 29, 1942 in Ann Arbor to the late Macon and Dolores Lewis. He married J. Sue Whiteman on July 26, 1974 in Port Huron. She died October 26, 2000.
Mr. Lewis retired from Detroit Edison after 33 years of service and served in the U.S. Army Security Agency during the Vietnam War. He received the gift of life, a liver transplant, in 1998. His wife, Sue, had received a lung transplant in 1997 and together they founded the Blue Water Transplant Support Group. Myron was a speaker for Gift of Life and served on city councils, planning commissions and junior chamber of commerce groups. He was a member of Marysville United Methodist Church and Rotary Club. He enjoyed traveling to Florida and the western National Parks and golf.
He is survived by two sons, Michael (Angela) Lewis and Richard (Cyndi) Lewis; a stepson, William (Pamela) Sedwick III; a step son-in-law, William Liverance; four grandchildren, Zita, Angelica, Isabella and Vincenzo; and four step grandchildren, Bill, Angela, Monica and Jared. He was preceded in death by a stepdaughter, Linda Liverance; and a grandson, William Liverance Jr.
Visitation will be 6-8 p.m. Friday in the Marysville Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be held at 11:30 a.m. Saturday, April 21, 2012 in the Marysville Funeral Home with visitation beginning at 11:00. The Reverend Ralph Barteld will officiate.
Burial will be in Lakeside Cemetery, Port Huron. Pallbearers will be Michael and Richard Lewis, William Sedwick III, William Sedwick IV, William Liverance and Jeffrey Beltowski.
