Ruth E Fraley
Ruth Elizabeth Fraley, 96, of Smiths Creek, passed away on Sunday, March 9, 2025.
She was born January 28, 1929 in Troy to the late Frank and Anna Copenhagen.
Ruth was a lifelong resident of Smiths Creek and an active member of Holy Rosary Catholic Church until its closing in 2007. She married Floyd C. Fraley, a WWII veteran of the U.S. Army and Purple Heart recipient, on October 8, 1949 in St. Augustine Church in Richmond, Michigan. He preceded her in death on April 20, 2005.
To all those who knew her, she will be remembered for her love of country life, her vegetable gardens and spring flower beds.
She is survived by her children, Diane McDonald, Floyd F. (Kathleen) Fraley, Susan Fraley, Nancy Stenhouse, Mark (Linda) Fraley, Lawrence (Debbie) Fraley, Sharon (Christopher) Brouillard, and Paul Fraley; and brother, Robert Copenhagen. She was preceded in death by her siblings, Dolores Fraley, Mildred Riedel, Dorothy Kramer and Richard Copenhagen. Ruth was a loving grandmother to 17 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren.
Visitation will be held from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. on Thursday, March 20, 2025 in the Marysville Funeral Home. A Rosary will be recited at 7:30 p.m.
A Funeral Mass will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, March 21, 2025 in St. Christopher Catholic Church with visitation beginning at 10:00 a.m. The Reverend James Arwady will officiate.
Burial will be in St. Philip Neri Cemetery, Columbus Township.
