Horace H Boddy

Horace Henry Boddy, 90, of Marysville, died Saturday, March 15, 2025.

He was born January 23, 1935 in Wyandotte, Michigan to the late Russell and Ruth Boddy. He married Deloris Mae Dunn on May 26, 1956 in Port Huron. She preceded him in death on July 16, 1999.

Horace established his construction business, Boddy Construction Co. in 1960 in Port Huron. Primarily focused on the construction of fine custom homes, the business eventually expanded into the commercial building market and government contracting. He was a member of the Marysville 11 Lodge #498 F. & A. M., Royal Arch Masons, Scottish Rite Masons, Detroit Moslem Shriners, Moose Lodge #158 and a lifetime member of the Port Huron Elks Lodge #343. Horace was a proud graduate of Yale High School.

He is survived by his long-time companion, Carleen Budinger; son, Ronald (Linda) Boddy; daughter-in-law, Christine Boddy; grandchildren, Daniel (Amy) Boddy, Kelli (Rick) Louks, Rachelle Laidlaw, Sarah (Erik) Griffith, Stacey (Jim) Westrick, and Matthew Vollstaedt; 17 great grandchildren; sister-in-law, Barbara Davis; Carleen’s daughter, Ginger Yohnicki and grandson; several nieces and nephews; and many dedicated employees. He was preceded in death by his son, David Boddy; brother, Kenneth Boddy; and two sisters, Marjorie Milton and Mary Lou Pike.

Visitation will be held from 2-5 and 6-8 p.m. on Wednesday, March 19, 2025 in the Marysville Funeral Home. A Masonic Service will be held at 7:30 p.m.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, March 20, 2025 in the Marysville Funeral Home. The Reverend Brendon Aspenson will officiate.

Burial will be in Riverlawn Cemetery, Marysville. Pallbearers will be Michael Nieman, Kenneth Pike, Daniel Boddy, Richard Louks, Steve Collins and Mark Pettee.

Memorial contributions may be made to Shriners Hospitals for Children.
