Donald Henry Kleinstiver, 83, of Clyde Township, died Thursday, March 27, 2025.

He was born April 10, 1941 in Port Huron to the late Benjamin and Donna Kleinstiver. He married Noreen L. Brown on February 7, 1970 in Port Huron First United Methodist Church.

Don graduated from Marysville High School in 1959 and joined the U.S. Army where he worked as a tank retriever and mechanic in Germany during the Berlin Crisis. After returning from overseas, Don spent his career as a truck driver with several local oil and transport companies. After retirement from By-Lo Oil, one of his favorite activities was being a very active grandpa and babysitter for his grandchildren. In 2018, after attending for several years, Don joined First United Methodist Church. At the church, he was a member of the Board of Trustees, volunteered on the security team, joined the United Methodist Men’s group, and enjoyed helping on the rummage sales and pie-making. Don also loved golfing, and in his younger years, enjoyed hunting and archery.

He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Noreen; two children, Kimberly Kleinstiver Person (John Masselink) and David (Kelly) Kleinstiver; three grandchildren, Collier Person, Liam Kleinstiver and Raegan Kleinstiver; a sister-in-law, Rose Kleinstiver; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Richard (June) Kleinstiver and Thomas Kleinstiver; and a sister, Sandra Wehrwein.

Memorial services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, April 19, 2025 in First United Methodist Church with visitation beginning at 10:00 a.m. The Reverend Drew Hart will officiate. Military Honors will be conducted under the auspices of the U.S. Army.

Burial will be in Sunset Memorial Gardens Cemetery, Fort Gratiot.
