Lura V Bender

Lura Victoria Bender, 87, of Kimball, died on Thursday, April 10, 2025.

She was born November 24, 1937 in Detroit to the late Charles and Lura Sansone. Lura married Richard Bender on November 3, 1953 in Detroit.

Lura worked as a seamstress for Champion Motor Home for 20 years before her retirement.

Lura and Richard lived in Shipshewana for 8 years and enjoyed creating and selling crafts. She loved to cook and also a knack for making a good cup of coffee.

Lura was passionate about her faith as a Jehovah’s witness.

She is survived by her husband, Richard “Rip” Bender; her children, Linda Tobey, Dawn (Greg) Stone, Gilbert Bender, and Richard “Rick” (Bobbi) Bender; sister, Joyce; several grandchildren; and several great grandchildren.

A cremation has taken place.
