Kimberly A Pentzien

June 25th, 1970 to April 30th, 2025
Obituary

Kimberly Ann Pentzien, 54, of Macomb Township, died Wednesday, April 30, 2025 after a tenacious battle with cancer.

Kim was born in Port Huron on June 25, 1970 to Sally and the late Stanton “Bud” Turck and was a 1988 graduate of Port Huron High School.

Kim met Jeffrey Pentzien in high school and they were married on August 11, 1990 at St. Christopher Catholic Church, Marysville.

Always driven, Kim spent time working in the family business, Hills Garage, as well as at Mickey Shorr shortly after high school. She and Jeff opened and operated Huron Golf Carts and Crossfire Creek Paintball together for several years. Then, desiring to help others in their toughest moments, Kim went back to school, earned her master’s degree from Oakland University, and became a Licensed Professional Counselor. With a specialization in substance abuse, Kim worked at the Oakland and Macomb County Jails and Grace Counseling, and was a certified NARCAN trainer until her retirement in March of 2024.

Kim was diagnosed with cancer in 2020, and for the last 5 years, she made the most of every moment. She traveled with her family all over the United States and the world, and especially enjoyed visiting lighthouses. A helper by nature, she participated in several cancer research studies with the hope of making a difference for the future. Kim was a very passionate person, and when she decided to do something, she would give it her all, even if it was just a puzzle. More than anything else, she cherished time with her family, especially her beloved grandson, Asher.

Kim is survived by her husband, Jeff; daughter, Cassandra “Cassy” (Scott Wilson) Pentzien; grandson, Asher; mother, Sally Turck; sister, Deborah “Debbie” Turck; brother, Scott (Laura) Turck; nieces, Emily (James) Balog, Krystle (Adam) Trinder and Caitlin Turck; great nephew, Theo; parents-in-law, Jeannie Freedom and Denny (Edie) Kinch; her chosen family, Kevin (Connie) Dudd and Rebecca “Becky” (Brian) Martin and their children; many other family and friends; and her grand-pup, Barkley.
