Milton J Rogers
Milton Jesse Rogers, P.E., 96, of Marysville, died Saturday, May 3, 2025.
Milton was born December 24, 1928 in Bradford County, Pennsylvania to the late Jesse and Rachel Rogers. He married Donna Mae Wagner on September 8, 1956 in St. Clair. She preceded him in death on January 2, 2017 after 60 years of marriage.
Milton attended and lived at the Milton Hershey School in Hershey, Pennsylvania for most of his formative years. He credited and appreciated Hershey for giving him a high-quality education to start him off in life. He honorably served in the U.S. Air Force from 1950 to 1954. For a brief time, he worked as a coal passer on a Great Lakes freighter. Milton attended Michigan Technological University, graduated with a degree in Mechanical Engineering, and soon thereafter fulfilled the requirements to become a Professional Engineer (P.E.).
Milton was employed as an engineer at NASA and then with Diamond Crystal Salt, where he worked for 25 years, including several years as Plant Manager. After retiring from Diamond, he worked with a variety of local companies as a consultant. He later started S.P.A.R.E.S., a Mechanical Engineering consulting company, and provided services in the U.S. and around the world. Milton was a member and President of the Marysville School Board for many years while his children attended Marysville schools.
He is survived by his son, William (Cheryl) Rogers; daughters, Karen (Brian) Jennings and Cynthia Rogers; four grandchildren, Graig (Amanda) Rogers, Jessica Rogers (Ryan Commerson), Daniel Jennings and Benjamin Jennings; four great grandchildren, Aayla, Hayden, Rowan and Kinsley Rogers; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his brother, Walter Rogers; and two sisters, Eleanor Slusser and Jeanette Daddona.
A memorial service will be held at 11:00am on Wednesday, May 21, 2025, at Pilgrim Lutheran Church with visitation beginning at 10:00am. The Reverend Michael Opfermann will officiate. Military honors will be conducted under the auspices of the U.S. Air Force and the St. Clair County Allied Veterans Honor Guard.
Inurnment will be in Riverlawn Cemetery, Marysville.
