Nancy J Collins

July 7th, 1952 to May 23rd, 2025

Nancy Jane Collins, 72, of Wolverine, formerly of Clyde Township, went home to be with the Lord on Friday, May 23, 2025.

She was born July 7, 1952 in Port Huron to the late Charles and Donna Lepien and graduated from Port Huron Northern in 1970. She met David C. Collins shortly after graduation, and they were married on December 3, 1971 at St. Edward on the Lake Catholic Church.

Nancy cherished her role as a wife, mother, and grandmother. The simple things were important to her: faith, family, and friends. Nancy loved gardening, baking, canning, sewing, and finding ways to bless others. Every time a baby was born, she would make a blanket for them. There were always plenty of leftovers after family dinners because Nancy wanted to make sure everyone had their favorite foods. She was a stranger to nobody and would lend an ear to anyone who needed it. She used her gifts to make others feel special, and she was truly a light to everyone she met. Nancy was a woman of strong faith and a longtime member of Colonial Woods Missionary Church in Port Huron and E-Free Church in Gaylord. She and David spent many years facilitating the children’s ministry at Life of Faith. They were also involved in special needs ministry at E-Free Church. Each year, they filled Christmas stockings for Metro World that were distributed to underprivileged children in New York. Nancy also worked alongside David in the administration of his business, The Gas Man. They were a team in everything they did.

She is survived by her husband of 53 years, David; two children, Jennifer (Eric) Heiss and Jeremiah (Rachel) Collins; five grandchildren, Anna, Ben, Greta, Charles, and Joseph; a sister, Mary Ann Lane; a brother, Edward (Carolyn) Lepien; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Memorial services will take place at Colonial Woods Missionary Church on Thursday, May 29, 2025 at 11:00 am.

Nancy’s family would appreciate memorial contributions to Colonial Woods Missionary Church (Children’s Ministry) or E-Free Church of Gaylord (Able Ministry, which provides support for children with special needs).
