Joel Robert Travis

Joel Robert Travis, 59, of Lexington, passed away peacefully surrounded by friends and family on Thursday, May 29, 2025.

He was born December 4, 1965 to Clare and Rosella Travis.

Joel was employed for many years as a painter taking on several government contracts with his main base being in Florida.

Joel was a family man and especially enjoyed being a 2nd father to his nephew Ryan Travis and great-niece McKenzie Travis. He always helped others and will be remembered as a giver, never a taker. When Joel wasn’t with family, he enjoyed being by the water, fishing, on his golf cart, or with his beloved dog, Stevie. He would never leave Stevie behind as he often took him along on his many Florida trips.

He is survived by his siblings, Jed (Donna) Travis and Janice (Kevin) Johnston; stepmother, Linda Travis; best friends Tracey Travis and Brett Trautman; several cousins; and many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews whose lives he impacted greatly. He was preceded in death by brothers, Jon, Jerry, and Jay Travis and dear friend Gloria Parker.

A memorial service will be held at 4:00 p.m. on Monday, June 2, 2025 at Pollock-Randall Funeral Home with visitation beginning at 12 noon. Shaun Laurain will officiate.
