Jean A McLeod

Jean Elliott McLeod, 99, of Port Huron, passed away on Friday, June 13, 2025.

She was born November 4, 1925 in Port Huron to the late Frank and Elsie Elliott. She married Douglas Jack McLeod on May 3, 1947. He preceded her in death on August 13, 1973 after 26 years of marriage.

Jean worked at Mueller Brass Company, Swift Body Company, Port Huron Area Schools, and she retired from St. Clair County Intermediate School District. She served a 5-year term as State Secretary of the Michigan Association of Retired School Personnel in Lansing and was Secretary/Treasurer of the local Blue Water Chapter (MARSP). She was also a board member of the St. Clair County Council on Aging. Jean volunteered at Port Huron Hospital (receiving the first auxiliary Volunteer of the Year Award), Mercy Hospital and the Salvation Army. Additionally, she was a retired figure skating judge and enjoyed round and square dancing. She was an avid reader who kept a book rating all the books she ever read.

Jean is survived by special friends, Coralee Cripps, Bonnie Gerstenberger, Vic and Carol Gronek; and her pet cats, Tiger and Tiger’s boyfriend, Tommy. She was preceded in death by her only child, Douglas Frank McLeod. Private graveside services will be held in Lakeside Cemetery.
