Mona Gay Harmon

January 28th, 1934 to June 9th, 2025

Mona Gay Harmon, 91, of Bradenton, Florida passed away peacefully on June 9, 2025 at Heritage Park Care Center.

Mona Gay was born in Hugo, Oklahoma on January 28, 1934 to the late Luther P. Garner and Stella Garner. She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Thomas L. Harmon, whom she married on December 25, 1954 in San Antonio, Texas. They were happily married for 50 years.

She had a long successful career as a Personnel Administrator. In her youth she enjoyed working as a Secretary at Brooks Air Force Base in San Antonio.

After retiring to their secluded wooded property in Smiths Creek, Michigan, she and Tom enjoyed spending time with family, rescuing several abandoned animals, watching, and feeding local wildlife.

Mona Gay is survived by her two daughters; Shannon Piper and Patricia Harmon (Paul Salamie), a grandson Daniel (Kathleen) Anderson, three great grandchildren; Josephine, Matthew and Angelina and a brother Mr. and Mrs. Roger (Ellen) Garner and several nieces, nephews, cousins, and another dear relative Jane Garrett.

She was predeceased by her two brothers Don D. Garner and Jerry R. Garner and son-in-law Roland Piper.

A private family graveside service will be held in Smiths Creek, Michigan.

The family wishes to express their appreciation for the wonderful years of care she received by the Staff at the Windsor of Bradenton Assisted Living Facility and by the Staff at the Heritage Park Rehab and Long-Term Care Center.
