John Williams

John Robert Williams, 74, of Port Huron, went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, July 19, 2025.

He was born February 10, 1951 in Port Huron to the late John and Rosa Williams.

John was a 1969 graduate of Port Huron High School and went on to receive his Master’s degree in social work from the University of Michigan. He was employed as the clinical director of Clearview Women’s Treatment Center and was a social worker with Detroit Receiving Hospital and Blue Water Safe Horizons. John was involved in the community and organized numerous youth groups in the South Park area. He enjoyed taking his grandchildren to water parks and was an avid U of M sports fan.

He leaves to mourn his passing his fiancée of 18 years, Debra Schef; children, Damon Buckhana, Robert Talley, Steven (Nicole) Schef and Josie Ware; grandchildren, Summer, Carlos, Jacob, Tasia, Kénnedy, Shaylá, Candace, Tiffany, Destineé, Julian, Lucious, Atticus and Jeffrey; and several great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Carmen Cook; and brothers, Timothy Williams and Walter Woods.

A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, August 2, 2025 in Pollock-Randall Funeral Home with visitation beginning at 10:00 a.m. Dr. Carl E. Miller Sr. will officiate.
