Carolyn A Bryson

August 25th, 1944 to July 20th, 2025

Carolyn Ann Bryson, 80, of Smiths Creek, Michigan, went home to the Lord on Sunday, July 20, 2025, surrounded by family and friends.

She was born August 25, 1944 in Mena, Arkansas to the late William E. and Betty Ree Crosby and was the eldest of four children.

She married Gerald “Papa” Bryson on July 18, 1962 in Austin, Texas. For 54 years they navigated the bumpy road of life, including the loss of their son, Dale Bryson on July 7, 1992. Gerald preceded her in death on January 21, 2017.

Carolyn retired from Ford Motor Company in 1995 and volunteered her time at Port Huron Hospital. Known as “Grandma Happy” to her grandchildren, she brought joy to the lives of those who knew her. Her passing came peacefully because of her unshakable faith and the prayers of her church and family. Heaven has gained a sweet, kind, generous, loving soul, and she is now joyfully reunited with her loved ones.

She is survived by her daughters, Debbie Monzo and Renee (Martin) Slominis; grandsons, Ryan (Kristy) Monzo, Dustin Monzo, Stone Slominis and Pierce Slominis; great grandchildren, Kadence, Dominic and Roman; and close family friends, Debbie Jones, Alicia (Adam), Amethyst and Alexis Stevens. She was preceded in death by her siblings, Betty, Kathy and Billy.

A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, July 31, 2025 in Blue Water Free Methodist Church, 1963 Allen Rd., Smiths Creek, MI 48074, with visitation beginning at 10:00 a.m. The Reverend Michael Alexander will officiate.

Interment will be in Caswell Cemetery, Kimball Township.
