Richard W "Joe" Berger
Richard William “Joe” Berger, 79, of Harrison Township, died Friday, July 25, 2025.
He was born September 17, 1945 in Mount Clemens to the late Theodore and Marion Berger. He married Nancy Marie Schultz on June 20, 1970 at All Saints Episcopal Church in Marysville.
Joe graduated from L’Anse Creuse High School in 1963 and then attended Port Huron Jr. College, which is where he met Nancy. He also worked on tanks for several years with General Dynamics, which included travel to Egypt. When Joe wasn’t working or tinkering, he also enjoyed woodworking and loved Sunday family dinners.
He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Nancy; two sons, Scott Berger and Bob (Susan) Berger; grandchildren, Xavier, Xena and Xander; brother, Mike Berger; sister, Clare Berger; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a son, Anthony “Tony” Berger; a brother, Dave Berger; and a sister, Margaret “Bitsy” Aggeler.
