Louise "Margaret" Guske
Margaret Guske, age 97, passed away peacefully on Sunday, June 15, 2025, in Port Huron, Michigan, surrounded by her loving family.
She was born on May 27, 1928, in Detroit, Michigan to the late Louise and Emil Rinderspacher. She married the love of her life, Kenneth W. Guske, on March 8, 1947, in Port Huron. Together, they shared 78 years of marriage and built a beautiful life grounded in love, hard work, and dedication.
Margaret and Kenneth proudly owned City Awning and MarKen Cushions, working side by side for 45 years, leaving a lasting mark on the community through their family-run business. After “retiring” from their company, they began a new adventure working at Walt Disney World in Florida during the Michigan winters. Their entrepreneurial spirit continued as they opened Guske Sales, where they renovated and specialized in custom shades for GMC motorhomes.
Margaret was known for her generous spirit, kindness, and unwavering commitment to her family. She found joy in the simple pleasures of life-playing euchre with friends, traveling to new places with the GMC Great Lakers Motorhome Club, and sewing with unmatched skill. Whether it was sewing alterations or making a last-minute repair, Margaret’s sewing talents were legendary and often saved the day.
Margaret is survived by her devoted husband, Kenneth Guske, and her loving family; son-in-law, Ernest Stuart; children, Marlene (Jeffery) Williams, Jacques (Deborah) Guske, Marvin (Jacquelin) Guske, Jeffry (Sheryl) Guske, Kimberlee (Kevin) Renno, and Jon (Diane) Guske. She is also survived by 19 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren; 3 great-great-grandchildren; sister, Kathleen (Ronald) Smith; brother George (Robin) Rinderspacher; and many cherished nieces and nephews-each of whom brought her immense pride and joy.
She was preceded in death by her beloved daughters, Kristine Stuart and Karen Guske; as well as her in-laws, Charles (Irma) Guske, Marie (Harry) Erd, William McGill, and John (Janine) Guske.
A Funeral Mass will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, August 16, 2025 at Holy Trinity Parish St. Stephen Catholic Church in Port Huron. Inurnment will be in the Allied Veterans Cemetery Columbarium, Port Huron.
