Michael K. "Mike" Sly

Michael Keith “Mike” Sly, 79, a proud Father and Grandfather, devoted Husband, Navy Veteran, Security Professional and Director of Operations at Blue Water Transportation passed away peacefully at The Avalon of Commerce Township on Tuesday August 12, 2025.

He was born on April 19, 1946 in Port Huron to the late Elmer and Ida Sly. He spent most of his adult life in Port Huron, enjoyed the area and was actively involved in the community that he loved.

Mike was married to Connie Faye Frank on September 6, 1966 in Peck. Shortly after he began a tour in the Navy on a squadron of light attack boats. This courage under fire would later serve him well while building a successful security business and raising his two children.

Mike was passionate about Honda Goldwing motorcycles and Corvettes. He enjoyed trips to the “Tail of the Dragon”, Sturgis, South Dakota Motorcycle Rallies, the tunnel of trees and many other iconic destinations. As much as he enjoyed the ride, he enjoyed the people along the way and was full of experiences and stories when he arrived home.

His strength of spirit, laughter and stories will be deeply missed.

Mike was preceded in death by his wife of 56 years, Connie Faye Sly, who passed away on June 18, 2023. He is survived by his two children, Michelle Faye (Bill) Mack and Michael Roland (Molly) Sly. Mike’s five grandchildren were a treasure to him (in birth order): Leah (Trevor) Chamberlin, Marian Sly, Will Mack, Michael Sly and Owen Mack; and his great grandson, Ezren Chamberlin.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, August 16, 2025 in the Marysville Funeral Home with visitation beginning at 11:00 a.m. Military honors will be held under the auspices of the U.S. Navy.

Inurnment will be in Great Lakes National Cemetery, Holly at a later date.
