Loren D Clark

Loren Douglas Clark, 82, of Fort Gratiot, went home to be with the Lord on Monday, August 18, 2025.

He was born July 5, 1943 in Yale to the late William and Verdella Clark. He married Brenda L. Knappins on July 30, 1966 in Yale.

Loren graduated from Capac High School and received his bachelor’s degree from Bethel University in Mishawaka, Indiana. He joined the U.S. Army, attending Officer Candidate School in Fort Belvoir, Virginia and later serving during the Vietnam War, where he was awarded two bronze stars. Loren owned Clark and Associates for 40 years prior to his retirement. He served as a board member for the Fort Shiloh Boys Home, an organization offering shelter and developing social and vocational skills for disadvantaged youth.

He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Brenda; two sons, Brock Clark and Jon (Carrie) Clark; grandchildren, Jacob and Samuel Clark; sisters, Noreen Gardner, Kay (Ken) Jelinek and Jan Price; step-sisters, Paula (Jim) Dell and Marilyn Meredith; and brother-in-law, Terry (Dixie) Knappins. He was preceded in death by his step-brother, Ralph Meredith; and sister-in-law, Arlene Essenburg.

Visitation will be held from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. on Sunday, August 24, 2025 in Pollock-Randall Funeral Home.

Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m. on Monday, August 25, 2025 in Hillside Wesleyan Church with visitation beginning at 10:00 a.m. The Reverend Jack French and The Reverend Nathan Neihof will officiate. Military honors will be conducted under the auspices of the U.S. Army and the St. Clair County Allied Veterans Honor Guard.

Burial will be in Lynn Township Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Jacob Clark, Samuel Clark, Jake Jelinek, Jon Ackley-Jelinek, Derek Knappins and Joseph Price.
