Martha L Porter

Martha Leona Porter, 89, of Port Huron made her transition home to be with the Lord on Monday, September 1, 2025.

She was born December 20, 1935 in Port Huron to the late Robert and Roberta Stark. After high school, Martha moved to New York City where she met and married Clarence Porter. After raising her sons in New York, Martha returned to Port Huron. She began her career with Ford Motor Company in 1975 and worked there until her retirement in 1996.

Martha loved traveling with her friends and visiting her family in New York. She also enjoyed gardening and flowers. More than anything, she loved being with her family, whether it was family reunions and cookouts, or just time with her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Martha leaves to mourn her passing, her sons, Wade (Anna) Porter and Raynard Porter; two sisters, Lydia Baldock and Audrey Jones; a brother, Danny Stark; five grandchildren, Tuesday Porter Armistead (Anthony “Self” Armistead), Malik Porter, Aamir Porter, Raynard Porter Jr. and Nicholas Porter; three great grandchildren, Cetshwayo, Semaj and Nazir; and a host of nieces, nephews and cousins.

She was preceded in death by a daughter-in-law, Norma Porter; and three brothers, Robert, James and Joseph Stark.

Funeral services will be held at 12:30 p.m. on Friday, September 5, 2025 in the Lakeside Cemetery Chapel. Martha’s nephew, Deacon Dwayne Baldock will officiate.
