Frederick Marks
Frederick G. Marks, 70, of Apollo Beach, Florida, formerly of Marysville, died Friday, May 4, 2012 after a long illness.
He was born July 19, 1941 in Port Huron to the late James and Trixie Marks. He married Gloria Harrison on August 28, 1971 in Port Huron.
Mr. Marks was a property appraiser for Hillsborough County until his retirement. He enjoyed boating, traveling in his RV, listening to bluegrass music and was well loved by all who knew him. He was a member of the Marysville High School Class of 1959, a member of Marysville American Legion Post #449, Past Governor of Moose Lodge #158 and served in the U.S. Navy aboard the USS Galveston CLG-3
He is survived by his wife, Gloria; stepson, Jeffery; sister, Beverly (Tom) Valentine; two brothers, David (Cathleen) Marks and Keith (Lynn) Marks; sister-in-law, Jeannette Henry; brother-in-law, Maurice Weed; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by three sisters, Lois Young, Margaret Weed and Marjorie King; and two brothers, Gerald and James Marks.
Funeral services will be at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday in the Marysville Funeral Home with visitation beginning at 11:00 a.m. The Reverend Barbara Welbaum will officiate. Military honors will be conducted by the St. Clair County Allied Veterans Council.
Burial will be in Riverlawn Cemetery. Pallbearers will be his nephews Christopher Berdan, James Marks, Craig Howes, Todd Howes, Paul Valentine and David Weed.
