Leonard E Perry

Leonard Earl Perry, 91, of Emmett, went home to be with his Lord on Sunday, September 14, 2025.

He was born March 31, 1934 in Port Huron to the late Albert and Margaret (McLeod) Perry, the youngest of seventeen children. He married Margaret J. Martin on June 1, 1957 in Stone Baptist Church, Auburn Heights. She preceded him in death on June 23, 2017.

Leonard served in the National Guard as a young man before joining the U.S. Army from 1949-1956 as a machine gunner and combat medic during the Korean War. He was employed at National Twist Drill and Tool Company for 15 years before his retirement. He was a member of Port Huron Baptist Church. He was an avid coin and antique collector.

He is survived by three daughters, Kimberly (William) Goode, Michelle Janiszewski and Amy (Michael) Owen; seven grandchildren, William (Karina) Goode, Ryan (Shannon) Goode, Ashley (Dr. Michael) Knecht, Chelsea Goode (Jenny Gillespie), Brooke Pembroke, Timothy (Megan) Janiszewski and Courtney (David) Graham; thirteen great grandchildren, Olivia, Gavin, Lauren, Charlie, Anya, Alicja, Ainsley, Hadlee, Dominic, Aria, Layne, Corinne and Ivan; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his son-in-law, Mark Janiszewski; seven sisters, Viola, Betty, Donna, Mildred, Margaret, Iva and Ileen; and five brothers, Elmer, Bill, Norm, Ed and Barney.

Visitation will be from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Friday, September 19, 2025 in the Marysville Funeral Home.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, September 20, 2025 in the Marysville Funeral Home. Pastor Doug Haney, of Cross Current Church, will officiate.

Burial will be in Ruby Cemetery, Clyde Township. Pallbearers will be Leonard’s family. Military Honors will be conducted under the auspices of the U.S. Army and the St. Clair County Allied Veterans Honor Guard.
