Tryfena J Bigger

Tryfena Jean Bigger, 92, of Kimball Township, died Friday, September 19, 2025.

She was born August 27, 1933 in Marysville to the late William and Emma Darby. She married Richard Bigger on March 7, 1953 in Goodells Baptist Church. He preceded her in death on October 10, 2017 after 54 years of marriage.

Tryfena was a 1951 graduate of Marysville High School. She held several jobs during her career before retiring in 2003 after 17 years with the Times Herald. She enjoyed knitting, crocheting and doing crossword puzzles. She especially loved her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

She is survived by two children, Louis (Janis) Bigger and Lorna (James) Eldridge; four grandchildren, Richard Booth, Jaclyn Bigger, Jamie Eldridge and Kayla Eldridge; seven great grandchildren, Brooke, Olivia, Karlinah, Kingston, Wyatt, Jaylynn and Jaylee; brother, Ronald Darby; and four sisters-in-law, Judy Darby, Grace Dudley, Frances Smeckert and Donita Bigger. She was preceded in death by her son, Grant Bigger; three sisters, Catherine Darby, Isabelle Martiny and Vera Smith; and brother, James Darby.

Visitation will be from 4-7 p.m. on Tuesday, September 23, 2025 in Pollock-Randall Funeral Home.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, September 24, 2025 in Community Baptist Church with visitation beginning at 10:00 a.m. Pastor Jim Jones will officiate.

Burial will be in Christian Memorial Gardens East, Peck. Pallbearers will be Richard Booth, Jamie Eldridge, Mike Tremble, Brian and Steven Darby and Bob Menkel.
