Timothy M "Mike" Cox

July 24th, 1947 to October 3rd, 2025

Timothy Michael “Mike” Cox, 78, of Fort Gratiot, died Friday, October 3, 2025.

He was born July 24, 1947 in Port Huron to the late Orville and Marie Cox. He and Mary L. Miller met in the 7th grade and they were married in Hawaii on June 17, 1969 while Mike was on R&R from Vietnam.

After his service in the U.S. Army, Mike became a licensed builder, first working for his father-in-law, and eventually starting his own business, Mike’s Remodeling. He enjoyed being in the outdoors, especially fishing, hunting, canoeing, kayaking and going up north to the cabin on the Manistee River. More than anything, he loved time spent with his family, especially his grandsons.

He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Mary; son, Michael (Tracy) Cox; daughter, Jennifer Cox (Joseph Kelly); grandchildren, Michael Cox Jr. and Trent Cox; siblings, Wally, Deborah and Rosanna; brothers-in-law, Virgil Miller Jr. and Charles (Donna) Miller; many nieces, nephews and cousins; and his beloved “grand-kitties”, Thomas, Cali and Suzie. He was preceded in death by his siblings, Orville Jr., Linda, Joyce, Terry, Delbert, Ronnie, Harvey, and Harvey’s infant twin brother, Stevie.

Funeral services will be held at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday, October 9, 2025 in Pollock-Randall Funeral Home with visitation beginning at 2:00 p.m. Shaun Laurain will officiate. Military honors will be conducted under the auspices of the U.S. Army and the St. Clair County Allied Veterans Honor Guard.
