Cecil W "Bud" Gilbert Jr
Cecil Wesley “Bud” Gilbert Jr., 62, of Marysville, died Friday, October 3, 2025.
He was born April 1, 1963 in Port Huron to Joyce and the late Cecil Gilbert Sr. He married the love of his life, Jeanne Langolf, on June 13, 2009.
Bud was a 1981 graduate of Marysville High School. He recently retired from Consumers Energy, where he worked for over 30 years.
He was a train enthusiast and was a founding member of the PH& D Railroad Museum. He could often be found tinkering on engines and had the skill and talent to make old things new again.
He is survived by his wife, Jeanne; children, Christopher Gilbert, Heather (Stephen) Ritter and Stacey (Stephen) Earl; grandchildren, Matthew Charest, Courtney Seale, Zoe Ritter and Andrew Earl; great-grandchild, Juniper Harrington; mother, Joyce Gilbert; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Roy (Lisa) Langolf, Kellie Bordato and Becky Langolf; many nieces and nephews; best friend, Mark Burkhardt; and his dear dog, Katy. He was preceded in death by his brother, Rodney Gilbert; and sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Sandy (Pat) Hamilton.
Visitation will be from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Tuesday, October 7, 2025 in the Marysville Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be held at 12 noon on Wednesday, October 8, 2025 in the Marysville Funeral Home. The Reverend Phil Whetstone of Colonial Woods Missionary Church will officiate.
Burial will be in Riverlawn Cemetery, Marysville.
