David E Sexton

David Earl Sexton, 75, of Port Huron, died Saturday, October 4, 2025.

He was born September 13, 1950 in Escanaba to the late Emil and Norma Sexton.

David graduated from St. Clair High School in 1971. He worked at Diamond Crystal Salt for 17 years before retiring and later worked as a CNA at Faith Medical Center. He also returned to his alma mater as an assistant basketball coach alongside Fred Shaw. David volunteered for several organizations, including the Council on Aging, the YMCA, St. Clair City Special Police and the Blue Water Area Humane Society. He loved being outdoors and especially enjoyed hunting and fishing.

He is survived by two children, John Sexton and Jennifer Sexton; grandchildren, Mason and Dylan Sexton; sister, Bonnie Goodnough; and his friend who was like a brother to him, Steven (Connie) McCartney. He was preceded in death by his wife, Rose; sister, Ellie “Blanche” Goodnough; and his uncle who raised him, Harold (Betty) Goodnough.

Private services will be held.
