Patricia A "Pat" Wilson

Patricia “Pat” Ann Wilson, 87, of Smiths Creek, was called to rest with the Lord on Saturday, October 18, 2025. She was surrounded by her family.

She was born March 16, 1938 in East Detroit, to the late Joseph and Lottie Renusch and was raised as a city girl. She married Robert O. Wilson on October 6, 1956. Together, they relocated the family to the country so she could pursue her passion for horses and remained in Smiths Creek for 57 years. She enjoyed training and driving her Standardbred horses both at fairs and racetracks throughout Michigan. She also enjoyed league bowling and golfing with her friends.

Fiercely independent, Pat worked her entire adult life. She started out waitressing at fine dining restaurants and after her husband passed away, she opened a drapery business in her 50s which she ran from her home for the next 20+ years.

As the family matriarch, Pat took great pride in caring for her home where she often hosted holidays and family gatherings. In her spare time, you could find her outside working in her yard.

She is survived by her sister Arlene “Lee” Wagter; five children, Janice (Rick) Boudro, Laura Loxton, Cheryl O’Boyle, Christine McKee and Mark Wilson; six grandchildren, Tanya O’Boyle, Joseph O’Boyle, Alicia (Eric) Kranz, Eric (Kristina) Dyer, Jordan Dyer, and Lindsey (Gina DiBartolo) McKee; and four great grandchildren, Dylan O’Boyle, Austin O’Boyle, Jaxson Dyer and Bella Brodzik.

Pat was preceded in death by her husband of 29 years, Robert O. Wilson; her mother and father; brother, James Renusch; her brother-in-law, Walter Wagter; son-in-law, Samuel McKee; and her granddaughters, Melissa McKee and Meagan McKee.

A Funeral Mass will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, October 23, 2025 in St. Christopher’s Catholic Church with visitation beginning at 10:00 a.m. The Reverend James Arwady will officiate.

Burial will be in St. Phillip Cemetery.
