Cheryl A Belanger

Cheryl Ann Belanger, 65, of Fort Gratiot, died Saturday, November 15, 2025.

She was born on August 25, 1960 in Port Huron to the late Daniel and Helen Robinson. Cheryl married William G. “Bill” Belanger during Port Huron’s Boat Week, July 18, 1980 in St. Christopher Catholic Church.

Cheryl was a Port Huron High School graduate. She worked at several places offering her time and talents to help others. Cheryl worked as a hearing aid specialist for Unitron, a Central Sterile Technician, and for Dean Transportation. She also worked as an usherette and in concessions at McMorran Place where she met her husband, Bill.

She was a member of Moose Lodge #158 where she regularly spent her time watching her favorite team, the Detroit Lions. Cheryl’s laugh was contagious and filled every room she entered. She loved watching the Waltons, spending time rescuing animals, and making some of the family’s favorite foods, including mac & cheese, potato salad, and mini pies. Above all, she loved spending time with her grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.

She is survived by her husband of 45 years, Bill; her children, Andrea (John) Dimaggio and Christopher (Karyn) Belanger; four grandchildren, Amber (Jarrett) Barnes, Carter Belanger, Abriana Belanger, and John Dimaggio, Jr. “JJ”; four brothers, Tom (Heidi), Joseph (Susan), Edward (Nancy), and Robert Robinson (Debbie Smith); three sisters, Deborah (Dennis) Julio, Barbara (Dwayne) Edwards, and Julie (Kevin) Lum; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Visitation will be held from 4-8 p.m. on Wednesday, November 19, 2025 in Karrer-Simpson Funeral Home with a time of sharing at 6:00 p.m. Her grandchildren will serve as honorary pallbearers.

An additional memorial event will be held at a later date.

Memorials may be made to the Blue Water Area Humane Society or Taking a Shot at Breast Cancer.
