Mildred LaVere

Mildred Lena LaVere, 78, of Kimball Township, went home to be with her Lord and Savior Saturday, November 15, 2025.

She was born February 21, 1947 in Tennessee to the late Jack and Lealer Bell McWilliams. Mildred was raised in Tennessee along with her siblings, but later moved to Sparlingville where she met her husband. She married Donald James LaVere January 23, 1967 in Kimball. They spent 54 years together before he passed January 12, 2021.

Mildred enjoyed crafting with anything she had. She shared a love for music with her husband, and she was known for writing songs and even published a few. She took care of all animals, especially her sweet cat, Mittens, but above all she loved spending time with her family and friends.

She is survived by her son, James Donald LaVere; granddaughter, Rachel (Tony) Doan; grandson, Nicholas Spicer; and two great granddaughters, Allie and Maddison whom she adored so much. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Pamela; and son-in-law, Dion Spicer.

A memorial event will be held from 1-3 p.m. on Friday, November 21, 2025 in Blue Water Aerie #3702 Fraternal Order of the Eagles, 2645 Howard Street in Port Huron.
