Kay E Murray

Kay Ellen Murray, 84, of Marysville, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, November 18, 2025 surrounded by her family.

She was born December 13, 1940 in St. Clair to the late Richard and Bernadette Striker. She married Hugh “Jack” Murray on September 22, 1967 in St. Clair. He preceded her in death on October 22, 2020 after 53 years of marriage.

Kay was employed for 25 years at the St. Clair Inn where she and her family built many important and lasting friendships. She was a lover of music and song and with her beautiful voice would joyfully sing whenever the opportunity arose: whether it was at home, a concert, karaoke, in church, with friends or while working at the River Lounge at the Inn. She was a devoted member of St. Christopher Catholic Church and enjoyed the fellowship of studying the Bible in her study group. A longtime resident of Marysville, Kay spent the last few years living at Vicksburg Hall, where she developed many strong and meaningful relationships with her fellow residents. Most importantly, she cherished time spent with her children and grandchildren. Kay will be remembered as a kind, generous, funny, encouraging and grateful person who was always reaching out to help a friend in need.

She is survived by four children, Beth (Ken) Mareski, John (Laurie) Stoliker, Kurt Stoliker, and Eric (Sarah) Stoliker; five grandchildren, Amber (Ben) Yester, Jacob Stoliker, Carly Stoliker, Jackie Stoliker and Sam Stoliker; two sisters, Rae Ann (Malcolm) Smith and Micki Striker; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her son, Jack Murray; and two siblings, Richard Striker and Mary K. Smith.

Visitation will be from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Thursday, November 20, 2025 in the Marysville Funeral Home. A Scripture Service will be held at 7:30 p.m.

Mrs. Murray will lie in state from 10:30 a.m. until the time of the Funeral Mass at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, November 21, 2025 in St. Christopher Catholic Church. The Reverend James Arwady will officiate.

Burial will be in Riverlawn Cemetery, Marysville. Pallbearers will be John, Kurt and Eric Stoliker, Ken Mareski, and Jacob and Sam Stoliker.
