Frances Balinski

Frances Helen Balinski, 96, of St. Clair Township, died Monday, May 14, 2012 at home surrounded by her family.
She was born October 12, 1915 in Hamtramck to the late Walter and Agnes Szyska. She married Thaddeus J. “Ted” Balinski Sr. on February 26, 1938 in St. Philip Neri Catholic Church, Columbus Township. He died October 31, 1998.
Frances was the heart of her damily. She made her house a home, a gathering place where all were welcome. She was a very loving, caring and generous person. She was an inspiration and a source of strength to all. She was a longtime member of St. Christopher Catholic Church.
She is survived by her sons, Thaddeus (Gale) Balinski of New Baltimore, William (Joey) Balinski of Forester, Leonard (Kim) Balinski of Lakeport, and Jack (Sherrie) Balinski, James (Shirley) Balinski and Richard Balinski, all of St. Clair Township; her daughters, Theresa (Ed) Strzelecki, Marjorie (William) Herpel and Deborah Balinski, all of St. Clair Township, and Patricia (William) Curtis of Midland; 21 grandchildren; 42 great grandchildren; 6 great great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews; sisters-in-law, Eleanor Wronski and Marie Szyska; a special friend, Sylvia; her entire Starpath family; and Blue Water Polka Boosters friends.
She was preceded in death by her grandsons, Daniel and William Balinski; great grandson, James Balinski III; brothers, Edward and Joseph Szyska; and sister, Julia Oss.
Visitation will be 2-9 p.m. Thursday in the Marysville Funeral Home. A rosary service will be held at 7:30 p.m.
Mrs. Balinski will lie in state at St. Christopher Catholic Church on Friday, May 18, 2012 from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the Funeral Mass at 11:00 a.m. The Reverend Arthur Baranowski will officiate.
The Rite of Committal will follow in St. Philip Neri Cemetery, Columbus Township. Pallbearers will be her sons, Thaddeus, Jack, James, William, Richard, and Leonard. Honorary pallbearers will be her daughters, Theresa, Patricia, Marjorie, and Deborah.
Memorials may be made to St. Christopher Catholic Church or Blue Water Hospice.
