Judith M Torres
Judith Mary Torres, 82, of Lexington, went home to be with Jesus on Thursday, November 27, 2025 after a short battle with cancer.
She was born March 22, 1943 in Yale to the late Edwin and Lula Burch.
Judie graduated from Croswell-Lexington High School and attended St. Clair County Community College. She had a lifelong passion for art, especially watercolor painting and chalk drawing. Listening and dancing to all kinds of music was a source of comfort for her. Judie enjoyed feeding and watching her backyard birds, and loved sharing this interest with others. She also liked seeing monarch butterflies, and the beauty and scent of flowers, especially lilacs. Judie dearly loved children and always gravitated towards them at gatherings, and she loved nothing more than being a grandma. Judie’s heart for Jesus was evident in the way she put others before herself.
She is survived by her son, Martin (Kelly) Torres; two grandchildren, Emily (Johney) Birrell and Anthony (Amiah) Torres; three great granddaughters, Solanus, Thea, and Day, who will be arriving soon; four sisters, Maureen Young, Kaye Gohsman, Ann (Doug) Bricker and Nancy (Mark) Griffith; a brother-in-law, Al Molloseau; several nieces and nephews; her former husband and longtime friend, Jesse (Harvest) Torres; and her best friends, Becky Wells, Michelle Gallagher and Ellie. She was preceded in death by a brother, Larry Burch; a sister, Winnie Molloseau; and a brother-in-law, Gary Young.
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, December 3, 2025 in Hillside Wesleyan Church with visitation beginning at 10:00 a.m. The Reverend Nathan Neihof will officiate.
