Charles D "Chick" Kimball
Charles Darwin “Chick” Kimball, 91, of St. Clair, died peacefully Monday, December 1, 2025.
He was born September 18, 1934 in Port Huron to the late Darwin and June Kimball. He married Joan Curley on July 14, 1978.
Chick graduated high school from St. John’s Military Academy in Wisconsin and he received his Bachelor’s degree from Michigan State University. He owned and operated Kimball Appliance for 43 years prior to his retirement. An avid boater, Chick and his family lived on their boat during the summer months for 20 years. Chick was a beloved husband, father and grandfather, whose greatest gift was his humor, warmth, and ability to make everyone at ease. He will be remembered as a true jokester who could walk into a room and instantly lift the mood with a quick one liner, mischievous grin, or a great story. Chick was a founding member of the Port Huron Noon Optimist Club and a former member of the Port Huron Power Squadron.
He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Joan; children, Susan (Jay) Hardman, David (Rosann) Kimball, Tammy Kimball (Alex) Arcieri, and Tracy Fay; grandchildren, Kendall, Cullen, Hunter, Neville, Matthew and Brandon, and his in-town grandchildren, Trevor, Amber and Aiden; and many nieces, nephews and in-laws.
He was preceded in death by a son, Michael Kimball; grandson, Justin Hardman; and sister, Nancy.
Private services will be held. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association.
