Otis M Johnson
On Sunday November 30, 2025, God called our beloved Otis Johnson home, departing his earthly life to begin his heavenly eternity.
He was born on December 12, 1967 in Cleveland, Ohio to the proud parents of the late Alex and Hattie Bell Johnson. He was the youngest of 11 children. At the age of 14, he moved to Port Huron, Michigan where he was raised by his late eldest sister, Lena McClarty. He received his education at Port Huron High School, where he graduated. From there, he built a life rooted in Love and Family.
Otis worked for the Port Huron Area School District where he retired after more than 20 years of dedicated service. He loved his community deeply and was the kind of person who would do anything for anyone.
He leaves to mourn his passing his son, Otis Freeman (Danielle Ledesma); stepdaughter, Maya Freeman; his grandchildren, Jadelynn Freeman and Otis Freeman Jr.; his siblings, Pearlie Bell, Ruth Johnson, Edward Lee Johnson, Colleen Johnson (Ezell), Lillie Jean Jenkins, Margie McFadden and Shirley Johnson; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and cherished friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Alex and Hattie Bell Johnson; his sister, Lena McClarty; and brothers, Alex “LC” and Brister Lee Johnson.
Otis was loved by many and will be truly missed. May he now rest peacefully because his purpose has been served.
