Joanne M Schaefer

Joanne M. Schaefer, 89, of Marysville, died Saturday, December 13, 2025.

She was born May 23, 1936 in Huntington, West Virginia to the late Robert and Virginia Morrison. She married E. Frederick Schaefer on March 12, 1988.

Joanne was a homemaker for most of her life, and worked for Ontario Die Company from 1976-1979. She loved hummingbirds and shopping. At each holiday she hosted, Joanne cooked the family dinner. In her later years, she enjoyed traveling to Myrtle Beach and playing cards with ladies there. Devoted to her faith, she was a member of First United Methodist Church since 1969 serving as the church financial secretary for many years. When she was in Myrtle Beach, she attended Trinity United Methodist Church and will be missed by her many friends there.

She is survived by her husband of 37 years, E. Frederick Schaefer; three children, Lucinda “Cindy” (Larry) Irish, Robert Reed, and David Reed; three step-children, Gayle Chambers, Lori Bryce, and Julie (Walter) Rodgers; eight step-grandchildren; seven step great-grandchildren; one step great-great grandchild; and several cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents and cousin, Betty Jean..

A Memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, December 19, 2025 in First United Methodist Church with visiting beginning at 10:00 a.m. The Reverend John Huhtala will officiate. A funeral luncheon will be held immediately following the service.

Memorials may be made to First United Methodist Church and the Blue Water Area Humane Society.
