September 11th, 1961 to December 14th, 2025
Obituary

Marcus Shawn Otis, 64, of Port Huron, went home to be with the Lord unexpectedly on Sunday, December 14, 2025.

He was born September 11, 1961 in Detroit, the youngest child of the late Robert and Georgene Otis. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his older brother, Robert Otis.

Growing up in Highland Park, Marcus participated in many activities, from sports to drumming. He graduated from Henry Ford High School in 1980 and then attended Oakland University and the College for Creative Studies in Detroit, Michigan, majoring in graphic design. Marcus was employed with Blue Water Area Transit in Port Huron at the time of his passing. He had previously worked in graphic design for several firms.

Marcus' first passion in life was the Word of God. He was ordained as a Minister and spent many years advocating for Christ. Marcus believed in helping others and sharing the Gospel, and touched many lives leading them to salvation.

A natural-born creative and artist, Marcus was a skilled craftsman. He specialized in fine woodworking and had his own business, Exspressions Interiors. He had a special passion for building clocks, wall art and furniture. Marcus was also a talented artist, producing many drawings and paintings that were enjoyed by those who knew him.

In his free time, Marcus enjoyed a variety of activities. He was a motorcycle enthusiast and loved cruising on his Harley; he was an avid gun owner who spent much time at shooting ranges, and liked sitting by bonfires and going for drives in the country. He found peace by the water while fishing and reading his Bible.

He is survived by his sisters, Debra Clark and Sherry Otis; nieces and nephew, Hamilton Hollowell, Ebony Clark, Whitney Clark and Kelsey Clark; great nephew and great nieces, Doug Sain III and Ivory Sain; favorite cousin, Quintin West; sister-in-law, Delores Otis; his sister in Christ and best friend of 21 years, Daycee Caughill; and very special friends, Richard Chantelau, Ted Johnson and Kevin Payne.

Marcus will be remembered as a man that put God first; was a faithful, caring and true friend; and had a heart that will forever be unmatched.
