William M "Billy" Van Tiem
William Milton “Billy” Van Tiem Jr., 52, of Port Huron, passed away unexpectedly on Monday, December 15, 2025. His passing leaves a profound void in the lives of all who knew and loved him.
He was born November 22, 1973 in Port Huron.
A hardworking man with a heart of gold, William was known for his unwavering dedication to his family. He was a loving father and grandfather who put others before himself and would willingly give the shirt off his own back to help someone in need. His kindness, generosity, and quiet strength touched countless lives and will be deeply missed.
William’s legacy lives on through the love he gave, the family he cherished, and the many lives he impacted simply by being himself.
William is survived by his devoted partner of more than 30 years, Linda Kolman, with whom he shared a lifetime of love, loyalty, and memories; a proud and dedicated father to Jennifer Brown (Justin), Ryan Caughill (Heather), and Justin Kolman; a cherished grandfather to Raymond Brown, Jemma Brown, Nickalas Brown, and Phoebe Brown, as well as Ryan Caughill and Jyllian Caughill, all of whom brought him immense joy and pride.
He is also survived by his loving mother, Marlene Shiland; his sisters, Brenda Bearden (Aron), Racheal Van Tiem (Jason), and Jackie Bowers (Jason); and his brothers, Andre Dinelle Jr. and Donald Shiland; and will be fondly remembered by his several nieces and nephews, along with many aunts, uncles, cousins, extended family members, including his beloved aunt, Mary Anne Snyder.
William was preceded in death by his father, William Van Tiem Sr.; stepmother, Cynthia Van Tiem; sister, Bobby Joe; beloved grandmother, Marilyn Borowski; his grandfathers, Victor Borowski and Milton Van Tiem; his grandmother, Mary “Cookie” Van Tiem; his uncle, Marvin Eagen; and many other cherished family members and loved ones who passed before him.
A memorial service will be held at 4:30 p.m. on Monday, December 22, 2025 in Pollock-Randall Funeral Home with visitation beginning at 1:00 p.m. Pastor Alaine White will officiate.
