February 18, 1953 to December 02, 2025

Cynthia MacDonald, 72, of Naples, Florida and formerly of Marysville, Michigan, passed away with her family by her side on Tuesday, December 2, 2025 after fighting a courageous battle with cancer.

She was born February 18, 1953 in Port Huron, Michigan to the late Hugh R. and Dorothy E. MacDonald. Cindy graduated from Marysville High School in 1971, attended St. Clair County Community College in Port Huron, and graduated from the DeKalb Dental Hygiene College in Atlanta, Georgia. She worked as a dental assistant and hygienist for over 30 years.

After Progressive Supranuclear Palsy (PSP) touched her family, Cindy founded the South West Florida PSP support group and became the Chairperson and yearly organizer of the CurePSP Marco Island Walk, which has become the largest PSP walk in the country. She raised significant funds for PSP research and made many dear friends through her involvement with this organization.

Cindy touched many people throughout her life who will never forget her compassion and smile. She will be deeply missed.

Cindy is survived by her sister, Theresa Bartley (Bruce Mansfield); nephew, Nicholas (Marissa) Bartley; lifelong partner, John Heaman; many dear extended family and friends; and her two faithful rescue companions, Lola and Molly.

Visitation will be from 11 a.m. - 3 p.m. on Saturday, June 13, 2026 at the Marysville Funeral Home with a prayer service to honor Cindy’s beautiful life at 2 p.m. followed by a time of sharing.

Private committal services will take place at Riverlawn Cemetery in Marysville, where Cindy will be buried alongside her parents.

Cindy’s family would greatly appreciate donations in her name to the charity that Cindy loved: CurePSP www.psp.org/donate. Your Tribute Gift in Cindy MacDonald’s name will help assist families in attending the walk.
