Phyllis A Byrd

Phyllis A. Byrd, 82, of Kenockee Township, died Sunday, January 4, 2026.

She was born November 2, 1943 in Port Huron to the late Frank and Nina Jahn. She married Samuel Byrd on March 22, 1975 in Port Huron. He preceded her in death on December 19, 2023 after 48 years of marriage.

Phyllis was crowned Homecoming Queen at Chippewa Middle School, where she was also a cheerleader. She worked at SOSA Construction as the company’s first flag lady and also was employed at Autonodics as a quality and lab technician, retiring after 30 years. She was the matriarch of the family and cherished her children and grandchildren. She always put others first and loved animals and gardening.

She is survived by her four children, Jeff (Benita) Davis, Jody (Carl) Davis-Coon, Shannon (Tinalissa) Byrd and Shane (Andrea) Byrd; daughter-in-law, Julie Davis; nine grandchildren, Jessica (Ben) Dunsmore, Blair Spear, Jeremy Davis (Jessica Ross), Amber Davis (Tyler Post), Danielle (Dan) Grinnell, Trevor Davis (Megan Hernalsteen), Kaitlyn Byrd and fiancé, Josh Wolford, Zachary (Hannah) Davis and Nolan Tagliavia; 20 great grandchildren; brother, Harry Jahn; three sisters, Elaine Recker, Evie Sutphen and Betty Howard; and several nieces and nephews, including her goddaughter, Kathy McInerney. She was preceded in death by her oldest son, Ronald Davis; her first husband, Danny Davis; five brothers, Otto, Carl, Walter, Edward and Robert; and three sisters, Martha, Dorothy and Marion.

Visitation will be from 3-8 p.m. Thursday, January 8, 2026 in Pollock-Randall Funeral Home.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, January 9, 2026 in Pollock-Randall Funeral Home with visitation beginning at 10:00 a.m. Celebrant Laurie Wilson will officiate.

Burial will be in Woodland Cemetery, Port Huron Township.
