Esther N Dove

Esther Nina Dove, 98, of Avoca, passed away on Friday, January 16, 2026.

She was born June 25, 1927 in Yale to the late Roy and Nina Mericle. She married Lewis Dove on August 1, 1953 in Port Huron. He preceded her in death on December 8, 2021 after 68 years of marriage.

Esther was a devoted farmer’s wife and homemaker, who enjoyed baking, canning, gardening, mowing the lawn and babysitting for relatives and friends.

She is survived by her sons, Lewis (Wendy) Dove, Gerald Dove, Donald (Diana) Dove and Daryl Dove; eight grandchildren, Aaron Dove, Andrea (Scott) Stiles, Gerald Jr. (Jess) Dove, Tanya (Rick) Rodriguez, Jeremy (Courtney) Dove, Daryl Dove Jr., Jeremiah Dove and Leah Dove; and 12 great grandchildren, Macie, Caden, Harlynn, Conner, Cara, Ava, Taylor, Gracie, Bria, Lucas, Blake and Giovaughni. She was preceded in death by her daughter-in-law, Marilyn Dove; brother, Don (Ethel) Mericle; and sister, Vera (Lewis) Lindsay.

Visitation will be held from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. on Tuesday, January 20, 2026 in Pollock-Randall Funeral Home.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, January 21, 2026 in Pollock-Randall Funeral Home with visitation beginning at 10:00 a.m. Pastor Dave Borum will officiate.

Burial will be in Ruby Cemetery, Clyde Township. Pallbearers will be Aaron, Gerald Jr., Jeremy, Daryl Jr., Jeremiah and Blake Dove. Honorary pallbearers will be Dave, Al and Cal Mericle, Rob Lossing and Mike Lohr.
