Eleanor Jean Hastings, 99, of Marysville, died Saturday, January 17, 2026.

She was born October 20, 1926 in Brown City to the late Frederick and Myrtle Davis. She married Orville L. Hastings on September 3, 1960 in Westminster Presbyterian Church, Port Huron. He preceded her in death on July 27, 2003 after 43 years of marriage.

Eleanor attended Port Huron Business College, where she excelled in shorthand and typing. After graduation, she was employed as a secretary and accounts specialist with Chrysler in Marysville and Centerline, retiring after 34 years of service. She was a proud UAW retiree and had the gift of being able to talk to anyone. Throughout her life, Eleanor enjoyed baking, bowling, polka music, attending dances, singing in the choir, playing euchre and spending time with her family. She was a member and enjoyed time spent at the St. Clair County Council on Aging and with the Salvation Army Golden Agers, where she made many friends and enjoyed socializing, attending potlucks, and singing with the Choraleers. Aside from her extracurriculars, one of the greatest joys of her life was helping to care for her two granddaughters as they were growing up.

She is survived by her daughter, Sharon (Gary) Draveling; granddaughters, Courtney (Ahmed) Aloul and Krystal (Austin) Rowe; three great granddaughters, Norah, Miriam and Genevieve; sister, Norma Kohler; brother-in-law, Carl Simpson; and many nieces, nephews and cousins. In addition to her husband and parents, Eleanor was preceded in death by her son, David; grandson, Gary Draveling II; five siblings, Fred (Josephine) Davis, Hazel (John) McAllister, Donald (Mimi) Davis, Doris (Anthony) Kaufman and Helen Simpson; and a brother-in-law, Robert Kohler.

Visitation will be held from 2-5 & 6-8 p.m. on Thursday, January 22, 2026 in the Marysville Funeral Home.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, January 23, 2026 at Marysville United Methodist Church with visitation beginning at 10:00 a.m. The Reverend Curtis Clarke will officiate.

Burial will be in Caswell Cemetery, Kimball Township. Pallbearers will be Gary Draveling, Ahmed Aloul, Austin Rowe, Steve Kohler, Mike Kaufman and Mark Jurgess.
