Larry L Dismuke
Larry L. Dismuke, 76, of Port Huron went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, January 21, 2026.
He was born July 1, 1949 in Detroit to the late Luther and June Dismuke. He married Judy Block on June 30, 2012 at Griswold Street Baptist Church.
Larry was raised in Flint before proudly serving in the U.S. Army in 1969. He worked at General Motors for 35 years before answering a new calling in social work. After earning his Bachelor’s degree, Larry worked with many people in his community, providing counseling services to inmates as well as school-aged children through Community Mental Health. “Lare Bear” had a big heart and also found great purpose in volunteering at Spero, to help each man that came through.
Larry enjoyed hunting, woodworking, and, in his younger years, roller skating. He loved feeding all the animals that would visit his backyard including the birds, squirrels, chipmunks, and ducks. Larry firmly believed that a bowl of Cream of Mushroom soup could cure just about anything. He was a dedicated Christian, serving as a deacon at 1st Baptist Church of Holly as his children were growing up as well as his current service at Griswold Street Baptist Church in the Men’s Bible Study, Retiree Fellowship, Missions Board, and Jail Ministry.
He is survived by his wife of 13 years, Judy; his children, Matthew (Jill) Dismuke, Nathan Dismuke, and Nicole (Clinton) Elliott; his step-children, Michael (Stefenie) Block, Christy (Tyler) Ingle, and Megan (Eli) Block-Brewer; 19 grandchildren; 2 great-grandchildren; half-brother, William “Bill” Dismuke; half-sister, Sharon Dismuke; a step-sister, Tina Pettengill; his sister-in-law, Sharon Langolf; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Luther Dismuke and June (James) Pettis; and his brother-in-law, Alex Langolf.
Visitation will be held from 4-7 p.m. on Thursday, January 29, 2026 in Pollock-Randall Funeral Home.
Private family services will be held.
